Catch it early. Treat it easy.

Most of the things that kill New Yorkers prematurely — heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers — are largely preventable. We help you do the small things now, on schedule, so you don't pay the big price later.

Categories of preventative care

The four areas where prevention pays off most.

💉

Vaccines & Immunizations

Flu, COVID, Tdap, HPV, shingles, pneumonia, hepatitis. We order; you receive at a NYC pharmacy — usually $0 with Medicaid.

🔬

Cancer Screenings

Colon, breast, cervical, lung, prostate, skin. We coordinate with in-network NYC specialists (Mount Sinai, NYU, NYC H+H) for screenings we can't do remotely.

❤️

Cardiovascular Risk

Blood pressure tracking, cholesterol panels, diabetes risk, statins when indicated. Heart disease is the #1 killer in NYC — we take it seriously.

🥗

Diabetes Prevention

A1c testing, prediabetes coaching, lifestyle programs, metformin when appropriate. Type 2 diabetes is reversible — especially early.

Screening schedule

What's recommended by age.

Based on USPSTF and CDC guidelines. Your PCP will personalize this based on your family history, lifestyle, and risk factors.

30–39All of the above + cholesterol panel (men 35+, women 45+), diabetes screening if risk factors, mental health check-in
40–49Mammogram (women, discuss starting age 40), diabetes screening, cardiovascular risk calculation, hepatitis C screening, shingles vaccine (50+)
50–64Colon cancer screening starts at 45, lung cancer screening (smokers/former), shingles, prostate discussion (men), bone density (postmenopausal), continued mammogram/cervical
65+All of the above + pneumonia vaccine, abdominal aortic aneurysm screen (men who smoked), fall risk, cognitive screening, hearing/vision, advance care planning
Vaccines we order most

Vaccines: ordered by us, delivered at any NYC pharmacy.

We can't give vaccines through a video visit — but we can order them, send the order to any pharmacy, and ensure your insurance covers it. NYC Medicaid plans typically cover all recommended adult and child vaccines at $0.

  • COVID-19 (updated boosters as available)

  • Hepatitis B (3-shot series for adults at risk)
  • MMR (catch-up, especially before international travel)
  • Meningococcal (college students, certain conditions)
FAQ

Preventative care questions.

Is preventative care really $0?
Under the Affordable Care Act, USPSTF "A" and "B" rated preventative services (most vaccines, cancer screenings, BP/cholesterol/diabetes screening, depression screening, and more) must be covered with no copay by commercial insurance. NY Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care plans cover these the same way.
What if I'm overdue for everything?
No judgment — we see this every day. We'll prioritize: catch the most important screenings first (anything age-specific or risk-specific that's been missed), then build a schedule for the rest over the coming months. We make it manageable.
Where do I get a colonoscopy or mammogram in NYC?
We refer to in-network sites near you: NYC Health + Hospitals locations, Mount Sinai, NYU Langone, Memorial Sloan Kettering, BronxCare, Maimonides, and many community hospitals. We make the referral; many sites schedule within 2–4 weeks.
Can my kids get school-required vaccines through you?
Yes — our pediatricians can order all NYC DOE-required vaccines. Kids receive them at NYC pharmacy partners or at a pediatric clinic for vaccines pharmacies can't give. Child Health Plus and NY Medicaid cover all required vaccines at $0.
Will my PCP track when I'm due for each screening?
Yes. We maintain a prevention dashboard in your portal showing what's done, what's due, and what's coming up. You'll get reminders before screenings are due — no need to track it yourself.
