Real nutrition coaching for real NYC kitchens

Not a diet plan. A relationship with food that works.

Most nutrition advice you'll find online is either generic, expensive, or culturally tone-deaf. Our registered dietitians (RDs) work with you in the context of how you actually eat — Latino, Caribbean, South Asian, East Asian, halal, kosher, vegetarian, broke, working two jobs, cooking for a family of six.

What we cover

  • Medical Nutrition Therapy for diabetes, prediabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, heart disease
  • Weight management (alone or alongside medication)
  • Pregnancy and postpartum nutrition
  • Pediatric nutrition (picky eaters, growth concerns, school-age habits)
  • Eating disorders (consultation; complex cases referred to in-network specialists)
  • Vegetarian and vegan transitions done healthfully
  • GI conditions (IBS, IBD, reflux) — low-FODMAP, anti-inflammatory approaches
  • Cultural diet adaptation — eating well within your food culture, not abandoning it

FAQ

Common questions.

Will NY Medicaid pay for me to see a dietitian?
If you have a covered diagnosis (diabetes, prediabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, obesity with BMI ≥ 30, history of bariatric surgery, eating disorder, pregnancy), yes — most NY Medicaid Managed Care plans cover Medical Nutrition Therapy at $0. We verify before your first visit.
How long until I see results?
Depends on the goal. For blood sugar improvement in prediabetes/diabetes: 4-8 weeks of consistent change. For weight: slower and more variable. For energy/digestion: often days to weeks. We set realistic, specific goals during your first visit.
Can I just get a meal plan to follow?
Yes, but we generally find skill-building works better than handed-down meal plans. We do provide sample meal plans, grocery lists, and recipes — but the goal is teaching you how to feed yourself, not following someone else's instructions forever.
Do you work with eating disorders?
We provide consultation and ongoing nutrition support for eating disorders. For active anorexia nervosa or severe bulimia requiring intensive treatment, we refer to specialized in-network NYC eating disorder programs (Renfrew, Mount Sinai, Columbia).
My culture's food is part of my identity. Will the dietitian try to change that?
No — we work within your food culture, not against it. Our RDs are specifically trained to make culturally appropriate adaptations. Eating well as a Dominican from the Bronx looks different from eating well as a Punjabi from Queens, and we know that.

Eating better is a skill — and it's teachable.
