CallMD Now is required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) to maintain the privacy of your protected health information (PHI), provide this Notice of our legal duties and privacy practices regarding your PHI, follow the terms of the Notice currently in effect, and notify you of any breaches affecting your unsecured PHI.
We use your PHI to provide medical care. Your CallMD Now clinicians access your records. We may share information with other healthcare providers involved in your care (specialists we refer you to, your existing primary care provider, the hospital if you're admitted).
We share PHI with your health plan to verify your eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and submit claims for payment. We may also share information with you about what you may owe.
We use PHI to operate our practice — to assess and improve the quality of care, train staff, conduct clinical audits, manage our business, and develop policies. We may share de-identified information for research, quality measurement, and public health.
