Research from the New England Journal of Medicine has shown that patients who see clinicians in their native language have better health outcomes: lower hospitalization rates, better medication adherence, better chronic disease management, fewer missed diagnoses. It's not a "nice-to-have." It's a measurable clinical advantage.
But in NYC, the supply of multilingual clinicians is concentrated in expensive, often Medicaid-out-of-network practices. Patients who need bilingual care the most often have the least access to it.
CallMD Now has built our team specifically to fix this. About 70% of our clinicians are bilingual; many are trilingual. We actively recruit from underserved language communities and prioritize hiring providers who reflect the populations we serve.
We also offer professional medical interpretation via certified interpreters for 240+ additional languages including: Polish, Korean, Vietnamese, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Tagalog, Italian, Greek, Yiddish, Hebrew, Wolof, Twi, Tigrinya, Burmese, Nepali, Pashto, Dari, Farsi, and many more.
When you book, you can request an interpreter. There's no extra charge. Interpretation is included as part of the visit, fully covered by Medicaid.
