Conditions we treat

Common infections — handled by telehealth.

💧

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

Burning with urination, urgency, lower belly pressure. We can prescribe antibiotics for uncomplicated UTIs without requiring a urine sample first when symptoms are clear.

😤

Sinus Infection (Sinusitis)

Facial pressure, thick discharge, lasting 10+ days. Many sinus infections are viral and don't need antibiotics — we'll tell you straight if yours does.

👁️

Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis)

Red, itchy, discharge. We can tell viral from bacterial during a video visit and prescribe antibiotic drops when needed.

👂

Ear Infection

Ear pain, pressure, drainage, hearing changes. We can prescribe oral antibiotics or ear drops based on symptoms and history.

🩹

Skin Infections

Cellulitis, impetigo, infected cuts, boils, infected ingrown hairs. Photos during the visit help us assess and prescribe accurately.

🌸

Yeast Infections & BV

Vaginal yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis. Prescription antifungals or antibiotics sent to your pharmacy same day.

Our approach

Antibiotics aren't always the answer — and we'll tell you when they're not.

Antibiotic resistance is a real problem. We follow CDC and NY State guidelines: prescribe when bacterial infection is likely, recommend watchful waiting when it isn't, and order tests when we need more information before deciding.

When telehealth works well

  • UTI symptoms that are textbook (burning, urgency, frequency)
  • Pink eye with classic discharge
  • Skin infection where photos give a clear picture
  • Sinus infection lasting 10+ days with worsening symptoms
  • Yeast/BV symptoms you've had before
  • Antibiotic adverse reactions or treatment failures

When we'll refer you in-person

  • UTI with fever, back pain, or vomiting (possible kidney infection)
  • Skin infection with red streaks, rapid spread, or systemic symptoms
  • Recurrent infections needing in-person workup
  • Severe ear pain in a young child
  • Eye infection with vision changes or severe pain
Go to the ER if

Some infections need emergency care.

Sepsis can develop quickly. If you have any of these warning signs, go to the ER or call 911.

  • High fever (104°F+) with shaking chills
  • Confusion, disorientation, or extreme drowsiness
  • Red streaks spreading from a wound
  • Severe back pain with UTI symptoms
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Vomiting and unable to keep down liquids
  • Skin infection with rapid spread (hours)
FAQ

Infection treatment questions.

Can you really diagnose a UTI without a urine test?
For uncomplicated UTIs in women who have had them before and have classic symptoms (burning, urgency, frequency), evidence supports prescribing antibiotics without a confirmed urine culture — this is standard NY State practice. If symptoms are unusual, severe, or recurrent, we'll order a urine test at Quest or LabCorp first.
Which pharmacy will my prescription go to?
Any pharmacy you choose — CVS, Duane Reade, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Costco, or your local independent pharmacy. Most prescriptions arrive within 15 minutes of your visit ending.
How much do antibiotics cost with NY Medicaid?
Most generic antibiotics are $0 or a few dollars with NY Medicaid Managed Care plans. We pick prescription options that are covered by your specific plan whenever possible.
What if my infection comes back?
For recurrent infections (especially UTIs or yeast), we strongly recommend establishing care with our Primary Care service — recurrence often signals something that needs longer-term management or a specialist referral.
Can you treat STIs?
Yes — we provide STI testing orders, treatment, and counseling. Many STI treatments (including for chlamydia and trichomoniasis) can be prescribed by telehealth. NYC residents also have access to free city STI testing at NYC Health Sexual Health Clinics, which we can help you locate.
